About Us

The director of the Dance Academy Irena Ratine has had 9 years of full time training at the one of the best Dance Schools Moscow State Academy of Choreography and 5 years at the Teaching University (BEd) in Moscow, Russia.

After coming to New Zealand, Irena completed with Distinction 3 years training  in Wellington and became a registered teacher of the Royal Academy of Dance.
The mix of advanced training as a dancer (Vaganova Method) and a teacher and the years of experience resulted in a great quality of  lessons provided by the Academy.

Our students annually participate in Royal Academy of Dance Examinations, both at the grade and vocational level. Exams are not obligatory but the students enjoy doing them.

Some students are involved in the Regional Associate Program organised by New Zealand School of Dance

Many students successfully participate in the various dance competitions.
